Whether a full renovation is worth it depends on your goal. If you're staying long-term, a renovation is about your own quality of life as much as resale value. Structural and wet-area work (waterproofing, plumbing, electrical) generally needs to happen before flooring and painting, otherwise you risk damaging finished surfaces during later trades. Kitchens and bathrooms are usually tackled before cosmetic work like painting and flooring in living areas, since they involve more disruption.
